Apple could release at least two new iPads this year, including a cheaper version of the iPad mini. According to Bloomberg, there was no new version of iPad mini since 2015. The other upcoming iPad reportedly has a 10-inch screen with a faster processor and might be released as soon as this spring. That device would keep its Lightning port like it used to do for the past few years.

Bloomberg also reports that Apple is considering to release an upgraded new iPad Pro for spring 2020. And they would introduce a laser-powered 3D camera to Apple devices. It also seems to be focusing on the new iPad for the next version of iOS, iOS 13. This version might include iPad-specific updates. For instance, a new home screen and tabbed apps, as well as improvements to file management.

Earlier this week, programmer Steven Troughton-Smith uncovered references to four new iPad models in the iOS 12.2 code. He expected that one of them might be a mini.

MacRumors also spotted Eurasian Economic Commission Database registrations for seven new iPads. Apple most recently announced its new iPad Pro with Face ID at an event in Brooklyn, New York this past October. It also includes gesture controls like the ones used on newer iPhones, although it sounds like for this next generation of iPad, Apple might debut features on the tablets.

What is Apple’s Problem? China?

What is Apple’s Problem? China?

Alpple's Problem

Its biggest problem is taking consumers for granted at home and abroad.

Apple’s problem isn’t a slow-down in the Chinese economy or the US-China trade war. Its biggest problem is taking consumers for granted at home and abroad.

At domestic sales, Apple considers the iPhone as a unique product. So there is a myth that the Apple’s sales market would keep growing and that the consumers would pay higher and higher prices for new iPhones. Actually it WAS true a decades ago, when the Apple was the only pioneer and service provider in the smartphone market.

But it isn’t true nowadays. While some Apple fans still find Apple products unique, there’s plenty of competition from other smartphone manufacturers.

Meanwhile, service providers no longer subsidize smartphone sales, as the smartphone market grows over and over. This change in the market conditions and circumstances, has made it increasingly difficult for Apple to stick to its old strategy. To introduce new versions of Apple’s product and to have consumers pay higher prices for them.

“For Apple bears, the current environment highlights the fundamental challenge the company is facing in its next stage of growth: convincing customers that they should pay more for iPhones, at a time when the smartphone industry has hit a peak and cheaper phones are flooding the market,” says Haris Anwar, Senior Analyst at Investing.com.

Some oversea consumers have other choices in smartphone market: Apple’s problem

Overseas, Apple assumed that consumers are as anxious as American consumers to get hold of its products. While this is true for consumers in other developed countries, it isn’t for emerging markets like China, India, and Brazil. So there was the room where Asian manufacturers could catch up the Apple, with affordable smartphones. This situation might have made the Apple’s Problem worse.

Here is another example of the company who took consumers for granted and suffered the consequences. Back in the 1990s, McDonald’s only focused on building new restaurants and buying up other food chains. And it neglected to keep up with the demands of new generations of consumers. Growth and profitability declined, as consumers searched elsewhere for value.

Solving Apple’s problem depends on Apple coming up with the right product to address the peculiarity and specificity of smartphone market.

Tim Cook might launch new ‘Apple’s TV service’ this year

Tim Cook might launch new ‘Apple’s TV service’ this year

Apple’s TV service

The long-awaited Apple’s TV service is on this year?

Apple might be planning to launch its own TV service in the first half of 2019. Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC’s Mad Money host Jim Cramer in an exclusive interview that the company will announce new “services” this year. While Cook didn’t say what kind of services.

TV Manufacturers are suddenly, mysteriously embracing Apple

At CES 2019, there’s been a series of surprise announcements from TV manufacturers that are suddenly supporting Apple’s AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. They allow you to cast content directly from your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Even the major rivals of Apple, Google and Samsung do this. Furthermore, Samsung will actually support iTunes, too, enabling you to access movies and TV shows from iTunes.

This make us to expect Apple might be ready to pump with those hardware manufacturers for the upcoming TV service.

Then, there’s content: Apple has been spending over $1 billion on original TV content with no obvious platform. Another report suggested that some of those original shows were slated to debut as soon as this March. And another still claimed that those shows might be free for people who own Apple devices. But  it’s not clear yet what other services Apple might be talking about.

Cook also addressed reports that the iPhone XR might not be selling as well as expected, saying that it has still been the most popular iPhone every day since launch. He also said wearable device business is bringing in more money than the iPod ever did. The Apple Watch and AirPods made 50 percent more money than iPod at peak sales.

The 46-year-old communications consultant from Richmond, Virginia, does taekwondo with his family three times a week, bikes and skis frequently. He said he has exercised steadily and had no disease before. And then Apple Watch gave him an alert about his heart irregular heartbeat with the electrocardiogram app.

Ed Dentel received an alert from his Apple watch about an abnormal heart rate. On Friday morning, over breakfast with his 7-year old daughter, he put his watch back on. And the Apple Watch kept saying the same thing even he switches left to right again and again: “AFib.” Then he started to get a little bit alarmed about his health.

Atrial fibrillation, commonly called AFib or AF, is a specific kind of irregular heart rhythm. If left untreated, it can damage heart muscles and increase the risk of stroke. So it’s important to catch the symptoms at the initiatory stage. And this is what Apple Watch did.

Dentel drove to a nearby urgent care center while thinking it’s silly. But the one last time he checked his watch, it said ‘AFib’ again. Even Checking in, Dentel felt like a hypochondriac explaining that his watch told him that his heart has a probem. But after an exact exam, the doctor confirmed his diagnose.

After that Dentel started learning about AFib and what its impact and how important it is to get an early notice of it.

Here’s how to set up your Apple Watch Passcode:

  1. Launch the Settings App
  2. Scroll down and tap Passcode

Everyone Can Code: Bringing Coding To Everyone

Everyone Can Code: Bringing Coding To Everyone

In honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 17, Apple is hosting events nationwide to promote inclusive design and to show how beneficial technology can be for people with disabilities. One of these programs include working with blind and deaf communities across the US in order to bring accessible coding to schools. Starting in the fall, schools supporting disabilities will start teaching the Everyone Can Code curricula for Swift, Apple’s powerful new programming language.

Apple created the Everyone Can Code curriculum so students of all ages could learn and write code using Swift. Teachers could guide young students using iPads with Swift Playground installed, allowing them to use simple code to solve puzzles and control animated characters, whereas older developers could use the same program for app development within iOS.

The Everyone Can Code curriculum is also compatible with VoiceOver, the most advanced screen-reading technology available for people who are blind or low vision. This program describes nearly everything occurring on the screen, and is

the most popular screen-reading technology of any mobile platform. Other accessibility features available to people who are deaf or hard of hearing include Type to Siri, closed captions, LED Flash for Alerts, Mono Audio, and Made for iPhone hearing aids. iPad and Everyone Can Code can also be used by students that have physical motor limitations by using Apple’s Switch Control, which allows devices such as joysticks and switches to control what is on the screen.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, states “Apple’s mission is to make products as accessible as possible. We created Everyone Can Code because we believe all students deserve an opportunity to learn the language of technology. We hope to bring Everyone Can Code to even more schools around the world serving students with disabilities.”

Longbow Research Downgrades Apple

Longbow Research Downgrades Apple

Analyst Believes iPhone cycle is just ‘good, not great’

An astonished occurrence falls on what is one of the most popular stocks in the market— Longbow Research downgrades Apple.

According to a Wall Street analyst, the iphone cycle will be a disappointment in 2018.

The company, who is committed to giving investors insight to ensure their success, lowered its rating for Apple shares to neutral from buy, foreseeing the company will ship fewer iPhones than expected in fiscal 2018.

The analyst, Shawn Harrison says, “[we are] seeing only a good, not great iPhone cycle. Apple found iPhone price elasticity with the introduction of the X blunting some demand. Reception of the iPhone 8/8Plus was lukewarm with Apple shifting production back toward the iPhone 7 as a result.”

Due to this, the analyst lower his fiscal 2018 iPhone unit shipment prognosis to 233 million from 248 million; contrary to Wall Street’s consensus of 239 million.

Consequently, Apple kicked off Wednesday’s trading session down 0.3 percent.

Indeed, for Apple this is a rare happening . However, 2018 is being a bit harsh to the company. In fact, the last time Apple was downgraded was on December 19, by Nomura Instinet.

They downgraded Apple to neutral from buy, due to the company’s high valuation compared to previous iPhone cycles.

Meanwhile, Bank of America Merrill Lynch has higher hopes for the company, reiterating its buy rating and raising its price target to $220 from $180 for Apple shares. This is 25 percent above Tuesday’s closing price, and it is also the highest target among major investment banks that cover Apple.

Yet, with Apples turbulent moments this year, they seem to still be doing just fine. Apple’s stock is up 50 percent the last 12 months.

This information was obtained from, “Apple gets rare downgrade because analyst believes iPhone cycle is just ‘good, not great’”

Apple’s Q3 Growth Spurt

Apple’s Q3 Growth Spurt

Apple sales are on the rise according to their latest stock reportings. Setting a record high on Wednesday, Apple stocks rose 5% to $157.14 per share. With the highly anticipated new product release later this year, Apple stocks are expected to increase again before their Q4 reports are released.
This news comes one year after the quarterly revenue fell for the first time in 13 years due to decreased sale in the Chinese markets. This year, Apple reports 2% increase in phone sales in the Chinese markets, but iPhone sales are not the only Apple product on the rise. The number of iPad sales increased 15% which can be accredited to changes in features as well as price ranges. By lowering the base price, consumers were inclined to purchase upgrades to the base model furthering sales. The newly redesigned iMac and MacBook Pros are also reportedly gaining interest in the declining personal computer industry. Sales in iTunes and the app store have increased 22% since the last quarter.

Even with Apple’s growth in sales, other companies such as Google and Youtube are competing for the final quarter to see which Silicon Valley company prevails.

Google launched the Google Pixel earlier this year rivaling the iPhone and seems to be the solution to storage limits that iPhones often have. By using the Google cloud and allowing users free access to store millions of pictures rather than charging for storage increases, Google may be on top at the end of the year. Alphabet, the parent company to Google and Youtube successfully allocate funds that allow Youtube to grow as an advertising service and move into the autonomous car realm.

Facebook balances its earnings by limiting the amount of advertisements in news feeds by increasing the number of ads on their other platforms, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. Since it’s acquisition of Oculus, Facebook has taken a small loss as it struggles to come out on top on the virtual reality business.

Apple generally experiences cyclical sales, increasing rapidly as the new product drops in the Fall every two years. The holiday season also aids sales as consumers rush to buy their loved ones the newest technology on the market. Investors are hopeful to see the effect on sales this year, as the newest products come 3 years following the last big release.

The iPhone 8 is rumored to cost $1,000 which is an increase over the standard $800 predecessors. Will the sharp increase in price turn consumers away or will it further increase Apple’s net worth? As new information and specifications are leaked, consumers will be the ultimate deciding factor in how Apple performs in the final quarter. By the end of the third quarter, Apple has $45 billion in revenue and $262 billion in cash and marketable securities. Safe to say, they are expected to do well in the last quarter once initial excitement ends.
